At this time, we are still going forward with plans until GGC notifies us otherwise. All decisions to date impact activities/events in March and April. Processes and policies will be reviewed and brought into alignment with any new direction or decisions. These processes and policies will then be communicated.

What is Safe Guide?

Safe Guide is the risk management document that Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) provides to members to aid in the safe planning of activities. It allows our members to deliver exciting activities and opportunities in their quest to provide innovative programming for girls.

Questions about Form Submission Contact staff at or call 1-877-323-4545 ext. 2423.

  • Note: Staff are able to help with general inquiries about the process for submitting files, but they are not able to read and interpret Safe Guide for you.

Ontario’s various Safe Guide Assessors are dedicated volunteers – many of whom are Unit Guiders just like you. If you have questions about how to interpret Safe Guide, your Assessor will be able to assist you.

A team of staff members monitor the email address and are a support to all members and our Safe Guide Assessors, however staff members are not assessors and cannot provide insight on Safe Guide forms.

What to expect after you have submitted your Safe Guide forms:

  • Upon submission of your forms you will receive an automatic response (with your tracking number) that your forms have been submitted. This is not an automatic acknowledgement (yellow level) or approval (red level) for your activity.
  • Once the assessor has reviewed your forms you will receive an email either acknowledging (yellow level) or approving (red level) your forms from Fluid Review.
  • In some cases the Safe Guide Assessor will request clarification or additional information. Please follow up with her as soon as possible so that she can complete the assessment of your activity (ensure to include your tracking number when responding).
  • If, after submitting your forms, you have not heard from an assessor within one week, please e-mail or call Safe Guide as above quoting your tracking number.
  • If you have not received authorization for your activity at least three days prior to your activity, contact Safe Guide as above, quoting your tracking number to request a status update.
