As the National Scholarship Team Chair, you will lead the Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada (GGC) National Scholarship Team in setting the criteria for our annual National Scholarship Program and to oversee the selection of applicants from across Canada.

In your role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build interpersonal and coaching skills by supporting the recruitment of new team members, and mentoring, orientating, and training new team members, as needed

  • Strong facilitation and team leadership skills

  • Comfort with technological tools
  • Enthusiasm for the pursuit of post-secondary education for members
  • Experience in or knowledge of scholarship processes and the education sector
  • The ability to be objective during the selection process of award applicants

What you’ll do:

In collaboration with the National Scholarship Team and with the support of the current Team Chair and the Member Services Department, you will:

  • Support the recruitment of new team members, mentoring and training them as needed
  • Plan, coordinate, and chair 3-4 teleconferences per year, particularly in April and May
  • Establish the selection criteria for the National Scholarship Program
  • Organize and lead the evaluation of the applicant selection screening held in April and May

Commitment:

  • A one-year term position, with the possibility of an extension to a three-year term
