Cookies. Community. Care - FAQs

For Our Members

How does the cookie donation program work?

By visiting our Cookies. Community. Care. portal at cookies.girlguides.ca, customers can now purchase cookies online specifically for donation; selecting where they would like their box(es) of cookies to be donated to from one of the following sectors:

  • Local Community Shelter
  • Local Community Foodbank
  • Local Community Youth Service Organization
  • Local Community Essential Workers

The portal will remain open until August 15th.  At the end of the campaign, arrangements will be made to deliver cookies across Canada to the associated non-profits and community organizations.

What if a customer wants to buy a box of cookies for themselves?

Please share with them the link to this page which will show the various retailers currently selling our cookies across Canada.

Will units benefit from the sale of these cookies?

Girl Guides will be using cases from our remaining spring inventory.  From the sale of these cookies, profits will become a part of the equitable profit share which will be distributed later this summer (date still to be determined) to units who did not receive the delivery of cookies as well as those units who returned cases as part of the Reverse Cookie Delivery Process.

What organizations will receive the donation of cookies?

Organizations will be identified at the end of the initiative (August 15) and details of where cookies were donated will be shared with members in the September edition of GuidePost.  Selection of the organizations will be based on if they fall under one of the four sectors customers have donated to and if they are willing to accept the donation of cookies. Members are welcome to share suggestions with us by sending an email here. (please note that we cannot guarantee that all suggested organizations will be selected).

My unit still has unsold cases from the spring, can I provide these for the donation fulfillment?

Unfortunately, we only have the ability to use cookies from remaining inventory that is already in hand to fill donation orders.   Units are responsible for the sale of cookies they have remaining from the spring campaign.
